THE ALONGES

Bob & Teju Alonge are the Senior Ministers of The
Capital Assembly Abuja, Nigeria. They are the coordinators of the Methuselah
Project. They teach the word of God with a Passion to see it applied
in simplicity and understanding. Their TV/Media Outreach is touching
lives on three continents. They are currently on a one-year sabbitical
in Europe to focus on the MethuselAh Project.
The Alonges will be in the USA for 4 months from July - October 2006 to produce the first sample of the documentary by God's grace. Please pray along with us for focus, wisdom and finances for the work.
We will keep you posted. Our goal is to have the first Methuselah documentary ready for airing during the second quarter of 2007, by God's grace.
SO FAR..... ON THE METHUSELAH
PROJECT
The project is moving on in leaps and bounds. We found out that the work was much bigger than we thought, so we are in the throes of recruiting more hands for the project. In pursuit of this, we have started a Media Training school with a full-multi media centre for training new hands. The Newsflash section of our website will have all the details in the next 2 weeks.
We also hosted the first media workshop in March/April in Abuja and it was a resounding success to the glory of God. The focus was on improving the production value of the media industry in Nigeria. The workshop was well-attended by many participants from Nigerian parastatals and independent media outifts e.g. Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), African Independent Television (AIT), Nigerian Film Video Censors Board(NFVCB), Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), etc. We had sponsors some of which were BEN Television UK, NTA, NFVCB, NBC, etc. The particpants left the 3-day workshop with more accurate knowledge on how to improve the production value of the media industry. We had amongst others, Dr Tom Adaba, former DG of NBC, Mr Emeka Mba, DG of NFVCB as well as our own Rev Bob Alonge, who delivered excellent papers during the workshop. The workshop was attended by participants from various ethnic groups and religion. All of them left with one goal in mind to change the media image of Nigeria.
ON THE PERSONAL AND HOME FRONT
We, the Alonges
have been able to
-Grow in our personal walk with the Lord
-repent of overwork and now live a more balanced life
-spend more quality time with the children and a deeper bond has been
developed between us and our precious children
-pass across our passion for the Lord and the Project to our children
( they both want to be video producers and missionaries in future( amongst
other things, Laugh!).
-grow in our love for one another. The Lord has kept our marriage for
the past 12 years. Hallelujah!
